In a startling finish the Brooklyn ballclub staged a comeback then held on to
win over the Buffalo Buffeds by a score of 3 to 2 at Federal Lg Ball
Park.
Brooklyn came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning plating 2
runs on 2 base hits. Danny Murphy led off and keyed the rally when he drew a
walk. After an out was recorded, Murphy took his lead and swiped second.
One out later, Al Shaw then doubled plating a run. Steve Evans followed and
he was walked intentionally. Solly Hofman stepped into the box and delivered
a single scoring the final run of the inning. Brooklyn totaled 7 hits on the
afternoon.
The victory was credited to Tom Seaton(16-14) who went 8 innings, allowing 2
runs. Herold Juul got the save, his 1st. Fred Anderson(10-13) was hit with
the loss.
'I pin this one on my own shoulders,' Anderson said. 'The bottom line is I
didn't get the job done. Our fans deserve better than this.'
