The Philadelphia Phillies and the Brooklyn Superbas locked up in an exciting
one-run game at Baker Bowl.  The final score was the Philadelphia Phillies 9,
the Brooklyn Superbas 8 in 10 innings.

Both teams were tied at 8 runs apiece after nine innings.  Philadelphia came
out on top in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Harry Wolverton
hit a single.  Nap Lajoie next to the plate and he smacked a single.
Klondike Douglass then would hit into a force play giving Philadelphia the
victory and sending the 3,608 home-town fans home happy.  Philadelphia
managed 16 hits in their victory.  

Red Donahue(22-6) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Frank
Kitson(16-13) was tagged with the loss in relief.  He allowed 1 run and 3
hits in 1 inning.
