Bob Ewing pitched a complete game as the Philadelphia Phillies topped the
league door-mat Boston Doves by a score of 10 to 4 at South End
Grounds.

Philadelphia took the lead off Jiggs Parson in the first inning when they came
up with 4 runs on 2 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Sherry Magee
who silenced South End Grounds as he tripled scoring two baserunners.
Philadelphia had 11 hits for the afternoon.

The win went to Ewing(11-16) who allowed 4 runs in the game. Parson(1-2) was
the loser. His biggest problem was control as he allowed 8 walks in 5 and
2/3 innings.
