Bill Craver collected 2 extra-base hits and had 5 RBI and Candy Cummings had a
complete game as the Philadelphia W Whites defeated the ice-cold Chicago
White Stockings by the score of 17 to 16 at 23rd Street Grounds.

Craver was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He doubled which scored a run in the
4th inning and tripled emptying the bases in the 7th inning. Philadelphia W
kept the scorekeepers busy in the 1st inning when they had 4 runs on 4 hits
and the 7th inning with 8 runs on 6 hits. Philadelphia W finished with 17
hits in the victory.

Cummings(25-20) was the winner allowing 16 runs for the game. George
Zettlein(20-31) was the losing pitcher. He allowed Philadelphia W 17 runs in
9 innings of work.
