Old Hoss Radbourn had an impressive outing at Swampoodle Grounds where the
Boston Beaneaters beat the awful Washington Nationals 3 to 2.

Boston took the lead for keeps in the 6th inning scoring one runner.  After an
out was recorded, Pop Tate doubled.  Jim Whitney then unleashed a wild pitch.
Radbourn then worked the squeeze play to perfection scoring the run.
Washington made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the
needed runs across.  

Radbourn(19-27) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory.
Whitney(17-29) took the loss.  He gave up 6 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.
