Ed Morris went the distance and Doggie Miller had 3 base hits as the
Pittsburgh Alleghenys defeated the New York Giants in 10 innings 3 to 2 at
Polo Grounds.

Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Pittsburgh
prevailed in the 10th inning.  Miller lined a one-base hit.  Pete McShannic
followed next and he lined a single.  After an out was recorded, Horace
Phillips then called for a steal which was successful.  Pittsburgh rapped out
8 hits for the afternoon.  

Morris(27-24) allowed 2 runs on the game. The losing pitcher was Bill
George(1-1).  He surrendered 3 runs and 8 hits in 10 innings.
