Lave Cross had 3 base hits and 2 RBI and Gus Weyhing came through with a solid
9 innings at Union Park as the very strong Philadelphia Phillies embarrassed
the Baltimore Orioles by the lopsided score of 15 to 0.

Baltimore fell behind quickly as the Philadelphia offense came through in the
first inning as they scored 3 runs on 2 base hits. That scoring would be all
that was needed. Philadelphia bats were hot in the 3rd inning with 5 runs on
6 hits. Philadelphia banged out 18 hits on the afternoon.

For Weyhing(28-19) it was his 5th shutout this year. Tom Vickery(6-10) was
given the loss. He was knocked around by Philadelphia, allowing 18 hits and
8 walks in 9 innings.
