Cubs by a score of 6 to 1 at Polo Grounds.
Mathewson(31-10) was simply too much for the Chicago batters. He gave up just
3 hits and no walks in 9 innings. New York managed 10 hits in their victory.
Jack Pfiester(14-9) ended up with the loss. He allowed 10 hits and 5 walks in
8 innings. 'He had his 'A' game today,' John McGraw said of Mathewson.
