Frank Schulte knocked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Lew Richie went the
distance at West Side Park where the Chicago Cubs beat the Pittsburgh Pirates
4 to 2.

Schulte had a big day at the plate.  He popped a two-run clout over the fence
in the 6th inning and cracked a two-run shot in the 8th inning.  Pittsburgh
made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs
across.  

The victory was credited to Richie(16-13) who went the distance, allowing 2
runs. Claude Hendrix(6-6) absorbed the loss.  He allowed 4 hits and 4 walks
in 8 innings.
