Long Tom Hughes completed the game without help from the bullpen and Bill
O'Neill collected 2 extra-base hits and had 2 RBI as the Washington Senators
outscored the Philadelphia Athletics 4 to 2.

Philadelphia never recovered after Washington took the lead in the bottom of
the 4th inning plating an isolated run on 2 base hits.  Washington totaled 10
hits on the afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Hughes(9-23) who allowed 2 runs for the game. Fred
Applegate(1-2) took the loss.  He pitched 8 innings allowing 10 hits and 3
walks.
