TEAM RISP- Red Stockings: 4 for 17 Canaries: 2 for 14

Al Spalding had a strong outing as the Boston Red Stockings topped the
Baltimore Canaries by a score of 11 to 7 at Newington Park.

George Wright was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a
fine day at their team's expense. He delivered a one-base hit plating a run
in the 2nd inning, stroked a base-hit resulting in a run in the 6th inning
and tripled in the 9th inning. The score went back-and-forth with the lead
changing 6 times.

The win was credited to Spalding(34-19) who went the whole way allowing 7
runs. Jack Manning(13-6) was charged with the loss. He was unable to control
the Boston offense and allowed 13 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.
