Jock Menefee was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Chicago Orphans beat the Pittsburg Pirates by a score of
4 to 3.

Pittsburg fell behind quickly as the Chicago offense came through in the first
inning plating 2 runs on 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Cozy Dolan
got things rolling when he delivered a one-base hit. Jack McCarthy stepped
into the batter's box and he stroked a single. Dolan stole third and scored
when the ball ended up in the outfield. Danny Green followed next and he
laced a base-knock scoring the final run of the inning. Chicago and
Pittsburg each finished the afternoon with 8 hits.

The win was credited to Menefee(6-8) who went the whole way allowing 3 runs.
Jesse Tannehill(18-9) was the loser. He pitched 9 innings allowing 8 hits
and 2 walks.
