Bill Stearns tossed a complete game as the Hartford Dark Blues outscored the
floundering Brooklyn Atlantics 8 to 6.

Hartford had the winning rally in the top of the 8th inning plating 2 runs
utilizing 2 base hits. Jim Tipper led off and got things going when he laced
a base-hit. Barlow was safe on a stolen base. Bob Addy then reached on an
error. Stearns was up next and he delivered a one-base hit scoring a single
run. Two outs later Tommy Bond stepped up to the plate and he threw a pitch
that the catcher muffed. Cherokee Fisher added to the rally and reached on
an error scoring the final run of the inning. It was roller coaster of a
game as the lead change hands 5 times.

Stearns(8-10) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 6 runs.
Bond(14-34) took the loss. 'I struggled a bit out there today,' Stearns
said, 'but I toughed it out and we got the win.'
