Wilbert Robinson had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Sadie McMahon had a complete
game at Jefferson St Grounds as the very strong Philadelphia Athletics beat
the Baltimore Orioles 5 to 4.

Philadelphia had the game winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning with 3
runs. Harry Stovey kicked off the action when he drew a walk. Stovey got a
good lead and stole second. After an out was recorded, Ed Seward then drew a
walk. Frank Fennelly stepped in and he drew a walk to load the bases. Bert
Cunningham then threw a pitch that the catcher muffed bringing in a run.
Robinson added to the outburst and laced a one-base hit with two more runners
crossing home. Baltimore tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

McMahon(17-7), allowing 4 runs for the game, picked up the victory.
Cunningham(15-18) was hit with the loss. 'I struggled a bit out there
today,' McMahon said, 'but I toughed it out and we got the win.'
