Henry Boyle had a complete game as the sizzling St. Louis Maroons outscored
the Boston Reds 8 to 7.
St. Louis bats came alive with a big bottom of the 8th inning as they pummeled
Boston for 7 runs on 4 hits. The big moment was provided by Tom Dolan who
made the home-town crowd a happy bunch when he slapped a one-base hit which
was good for two runs. Boston tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
Boyle(14-4), allowing 7 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Dupee
Shaw(21-15) suffered the loss. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not allow
an earned run in his 8 innings of work.
