Gus Weyhing hurled a 2 hitter as the Philadelphia Athletics won in dramatic
fashion over the Cleveland Blues by a score of 3 to 2 at Jefferson St
Grounds.

Philadelphia scored the winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning plating 2
runs. Lou Bierbauer led off and started the rally when he drew a walk.
Frank Fennelly next to the plate and he smashed a two-run homer giving
Philadelphia the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.
Philadelphia totaled 7 hits on the afternoon.

The win went to Weyhing(26-18) who allowed 2 runs in the game. George
Proeser(4-3) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 8 innings giving up 7 hits
and 5 walks.

Weyhing and Bierbauer were really whooping it up in the clubhouse after the
great come from behind victory. As Bill Sharsig noted, 'A win like this one
can do wonders for a team's attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans,
the players - even you guys - it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
